ZOP1210: Mental Toughness
Program Overview
Mental toughness is widely considered to be a key ingredient of excellence in all performance environments, including business. Based on models empirically derived from professional sport, the purpose of this program is to understand mental toughness specifically in the business context, identify its characteristics and behaviours, and also the situations in which it is required. The program will also focus on how both individuals and teams can develop this desirable attribute given its relationship with resilience (coping with adversity and bouncing back from setbacks) and sustaining high performance (dealing with success and boom times).
Designed for
Leaders, managers, HR managers, executives and teams in all organisations and sectors.
Content
Adopting a similar conceptual framework and self-discovery methodology used in recent research in sport, participants will employ techniques designed to examine and enhance personal understanding of mental toughness, what it is and is not, when it’s required and when it is not. Participants will then explore psycho- educational and facilitative mechanisms, including coaching, designed to develop characteristics and behaviours associated with mental toughness.
Learning Outcomes
